6:43 pm - An Experiment in Depicting Campus Life

overheardwashu
Overheard at WashU, much like its inspiration Overheard in New York, seeks to accurately depict campus life through snippets of conversation and everyday occurrences. So if any members of the WashU community witnesses something funny, inspiring, or just plain out of the ordinary in a public place (Whispers, class, Bear's Den, etc), please leave a comment at Overheard at WashU. A poster's name is not necessary, nor is the place where the overheard conversation takes place (both are welcome, of course) while names of the overheard are strictly prohibited.

sep916 hey wash u freshman. i rarely post in this community but i figured it was a worthy cause. tomorrow (wed 9/22) are elections for freshman class council. they will be from 4-8PM outside ur residential colleges.

anyways, just wanted to encourage everyone to go vote because I, Stephanie Purisch am running for Internal Vice President. the internal vice president is in charge of all programming and activities for the class. if elected, i will plan tons of exciting events for us...we can do anything from formals to male beauty pageants to charity fundraisers to renting inflatables to poker tournaments. i promise that if you vote for me, freshman year will be unbelievably fun-filled. i was involved in class govt all throughout high school, so i know what i'm doing when it comes to this type of work.

anyways, go vote tomorrow and see everyone around campus.

who else is in Rubelmann or Umrath next year? I'm Rubelmann 3rd floor. holla.

so, how many of you are going to bring fridges, microwaves, tvs, fans, and other things like that? or plan on having one in your room? I feel like I won't have the space. ha.

so how are you all feeling right now? I know that I am kind of in denial. I'm really excited, don't get me wrong, and I did ED II so I've known forever, but I just can't bring myself to acknowledge that I'm leaving so soon. I've lived in the same house in the Hollywood Hills since I was born and the fact that I'm about to leave, will need to pack up my stuff, and will soon be starting something completely new just isn't registering. I'm sure it will be awesome, I don't have doubts about it. I was just wondering how you all are coping. Excited, nervous, can't wait, don't want to leave? What are you doing your last two weeks of innocence? (haha).

hope you have a great rest of your summer and see you soon!

2:42 am - Informal Introduction

silent_g

Hey everyone,

I'm not sure if I officially introduced myself on here yet, I'm Greg from Ft. Lauderdale, FL (not to be confused with the other greg424; although he seems nice too)</span> .

I did the first artsci weekend, some of you may remember me, I was the guy with the green folder. I'll be rooming in University/Eliot house in the fall and doing Launch before orienation. I have no idea what I want to study but everyone keeps assuring me that's normal. I love stand up comedy, martial arts, and pretending to play guitar. I actually want to take lessons at Wash U while I'm there so if anyone is interested in that it be cool to discuss. Either way, drop me a line on aim (Silence the G) or on the facebook; I'm always up for meeting new people.

Enjoy the summer,

--Greg

Hi everyone. I'm Anna. I hate livejournal, but I made one for other reasons, and so I figured I may as well join the cult while I'm here...Anyway! I'm planning on majoring in English and psychology and probably going prelaw...I live online, as those who know me know, so IM me whenever: annabnan63. I think that's about all. Also, go to http://groups.yahoo.com/groups/wustl08 and join if you haven't already. It's the bomb.
